The employee-owned grocery giant saw full-year revenue climb 5% even as quarterly earnings per share dipped slightly.

Publix Super Markets reported fourth-quarter sales of $16 billion for the period ending December 27, 2025, representing a 2.8% increase over the same quarter in 2024. Comparable store sales rose 0.7% during the quarter. The company noted that Hurricane Milton’s impact in October 2024 created a difficult year-over-year comparison, estimating that without the hurricane effect, quarterly sales growth would have reached approximately 4.1%.
For the full fiscal year, Publix generated $62.7 billion in revenue, up 5% from $59.7 billion the prior year. Comparable store sales increased 3.5% on an annual basis.
Quarterly Earnings Slip While Annual Results Improve
Fourth-quarter net earnings held relatively steady at $1.2 billion, though earnings per share slipped to $0.36 from $0.37 a year earlier. Excluding unrealized gains on equity securities, adjusted quarterly net earnings were $1 billion, down 8.8% from $1.1 billion in the prior-year period. Adjusted earnings per share fell to $0.31 from $0.34.
Annual results told a more positive story. Full-year net earnings rose 2.1% to $4.7 billion, with earnings per share climbing to $1.46 from $1.41. On an adjusted basis, annual net earnings grew 3.9% to $4.2 billion, and adjusted earnings per share increased to $1.30 from $1.23.
