Cion / Grosvenor
The CION Grosvenor Infrastructure Fund (CGIF) is a registered alternative investment fund jointly created by CION Investments and GCM Grosvenor, a global alternative asset management solutions firm managing approximately $80 billion across infrastructure, private equity, real estate, hedge funds, and credit. Launched in January 2025 with an initial portfolio of approximately $240 million across 43 infrastructure assets and $82 million in additional committed capital, CGIF provides individual investors with access to GCM Grosvenor's institutional private infrastructure platform through an innovative evergreen interval fund structure. The fund is priced daily and offers quarterly liquidity for up to 5% of net asset value, making it among the most accessible vehicles for individual infrastructure investing.
CGIF's portfolio is diversified across traditional and new infrastructure sectors, including transportation, digital infrastructure, energy and energy transition, supply chain and logistics, and infrastructure-adjacent assets. GCM Grosvenor, which has specialized in alternative investments for more than 50 years, brings its deep infrastructure sourcing network, decades of institutional investor relationships, and rigorous due diligence processes to the portfolio management of CGIF. The fund benefits from GCM Grosvenor's broad deal flow across multiple infrastructure geographies and sectors, as well as its track record of making investments at various points in the asset lifecycle including primary and secondary transactions.
The CION Grosvenor Infrastructure Fund represents a significant milestone in the democratization of infrastructure investing, an asset class historically accessible only to the largest pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, and institutional allocators. The fund's institutional backing, immediate portfolio diversification across 43 assets at launch, and the credibility of both CION's distribution capabilities and GCM Grosvenor's 50-year alternatives track record make it a compelling option for financial advisors seeking to add infrastructure exposure to client portfolios. CGIF's combination of current income, capital appreciation potential, and low correlation to traditional asset classes positions it as a meaningful portfolio diversifier for individual investors with longer-term investment horizons.
