Tamara Darling has rejoined Capital Square as managing director, Northwest sales. Capital Square sponsors Delaware statutory trusts, qualified opportunity zone funds and a REIT, and announced the appointment on October 1.
Darling will lead relationship development with broker-dealers and registered investment advisers across Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming and Northern California. She reports directly to Jessica Correnti, executive vice president of distribution and national accounts.
A Return to the Firm
This is Darling's second stint at Capital Square. She previously served as senior vice president, Southwest sales, and as a senior external wholesaler, helping drive distribution through the broker-dealer and RIA channels.
She returns from 1031 Crowdfunding, where she was director of national accounts. Her work there focused on relationship development and educational outreach to RIAs, family offices and other professional channels.
The company says Darling has raised more than $1 billion in equity over her career as an external wholesaler and has taken part in more than $2 billion of capital formation. She holds FINRA Series 22 and 63 licenses and is a registered representative through JCC Capital Markets, LLC.
Leadership Comments
Louis Rogers, Capital Square's founder and co-chief executive officer, said Darling has spent close to 25 years building relationships with advisers in the broker-dealer and RIA channels. He said her education-focused approach fits how the firm works with the adviser community, and that helping advisers understand tax-advantaged investment strategies is central to its business.
Correnti said the firm's wealth distribution partners value the expertise and service Darling brings. She described the Northwest as an important market for Capital Square.
Capital Square says it has completed more than $9.1 billion in transaction volume since 2012. The firm also develops and manages multifamily communities. Its property management division, Capital Square Living, oversees nearly 14,000 apartments across eight states.
