Nuveen Enhanced CLO Income Fund has named Stephen Virgilio a portfolio manager, effective September 24, as co-manager Himani Trivedi prepares to step away from the fund ahead of her retirement from Nuveen.
Joshua Grumer continues to serve as a portfolio manager alongside Virgilio, and the fund said neither Virgilio’s addition nor Trivedi’s retirement will bring any change to its investment objective or investment policies.
The Transition Timeline
- September 24, 2026: Virgilio joins the fund as a portfolio manager.
- October 31, 2026: Trivedi’s final day as a portfolio manager of the fund.
- November 1, 2026: References to Trivedi are removed from the fund’s prospectus and statement of additional information.
- June 30, 2027: Trivedi retires from Nuveen.
Virgilio’s Background
Virgilio is a senior trader on Nuveen’s global fixed income team and a member of its securitized sector team. He manages the firm’s best-execution initiatives for structured-product fixed income and trades asset-backed securities, commercial mortgage-backed securities and non-agency MBS in both the primary and secondary markets.
He joined Nuveen in 2007. Before that, he provided pricing evaluations on securitized products at Standard & Poor’s and worked in the asset-backed finance group at Citigroup Global Markets, where he originated and structured consumer ABS debt transactions. His earlier roles spanned trading, investment management, capital markets and securities valuation, beginning as a portfolio associate at Citigroup Asset Management. He holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in psychology and finance from Providence College and an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
As of August 31, 2026, Virgilio was responsible for one registered investment company with $133.90 million in assets, and for no other pooled vehicles, other accounts or accounts carrying performance-based fees. He owned no shares of the fund as of that date.
About the Fund
Nuveen Enhanced CLO Income Fund is a continuously offered, non-diversified closed-end fund operated as an interval fund. It seeks attractive risk-adjusted returns by investing in CLO securities of broadly syndicated loan CLOs and CLO warehouses, pursuing opportunities in both the new-issue and secondary CLO markets.
For advisors with clients in the fund, the practical takeaway is continuity: the strategy is unchanged, Grumer remains on the portfolio, and Trivedi stays on through the end of October while Virgilio joins the team.
