Proterra Investment Partners, a Minneapolis-based alternative asset manager that makes private equity and private credit investments across the global food value chain, has hired Jennie Park as head of capital formation and appointed Matt Coad as head of investor solutions, the firm announced Sept. 21.
Park Brings Credit Fundraising Background
Park joins from H.I.G. Capital, a global alternative investment firm with approximately $75 billion in assets under management, where she was a principal responsible for North American capital raising and investor relations across the firm’s credit strategies. Before H.I.G., she was a managing director at Briarcliffe Credit Partners, where she focused on raising capital for private credit strategies.
Earlier in her career, Park led North American business development and investor relations at Vantage Infrastructure and held similar roles at Apollo Global Management and Anchorage Capital. She began in leveraged finance at Goldman Sachs.
Managing Partner Rich Gammill said Park’s relationships, market knowledge and record in private markets fundraising will strengthen the firm’s ability to develop new investor relationships and deepen partnerships with existing investors as its investment platform grows. Park cited the firm’s team, culture and specialization in the food value chain and agribusiness as the draw, and said she views Proterra as well positioned for its next stage of growth.
Coad to Lead Investor Solutions
In his new role, Coad will oversee investor relations, client service, marketing and communications while continuing to play an active part in fundraising. Gammill said the firm has evolved as its investment platform and institutional investor base have grown, and credited Coad with building and strengthening relationships with investors and strategic partners.
Coad said he looks forward to working with Park to build out the firm’s investor and capital formation capabilities, with an emphasis on long-term investor relationships and solutions designed around investor needs.
