TriplePoint Private Venture Credit President and CIO Sajal Srivastava to Step Down at Year-End
The non-traded venture-lending BDC has tapped a longtime TriplePoint credit officer as his successor, but is not filling his board seat.
September 22, 2026

Sajal K. Srivastava, president and chief investment officer of TriplePoint Private Venture Credit Inc., will resign from those roles and from the company’s board effective at the close of business on December 31, 2026. Srivastava is a co-founder of TriplePoint Capital, the Menlo Park-based venture lending platform that owns the BDC’s adviser, and has been one of the two principals most closely identified with the firm.
Srivastava notified the company of his decision on September 15 and will remain in his current positions through year-end to support the handoff. The company said the departure does not stem from any disagreement over its operations, policies or practices.
TriplePoint Private Venture Credit is a private, non-listed business development company that makes secured loans to venture capital-backed technology and other high-growth companies. It is externally managed by TriplePoint Advisers LLC, a subsidiary of TriplePoint Capital.
Board Shrinks to Four Rather Than Backfill
Rather than nominate a replacement director, the board voted on September 18, on the recommendation of its nominating and corporate governance committee, to reduce its size from five members to four when Srivastava’s seat opens at year-end.
Schworer Named CIO Across the Platform
On the same day, the board appointed Ian Schworer chief investment officer, also effective December 31. Schworer, 45, will take the CIO title across the broader TriplePoint organization simultaneously: at TriplePoint Venture Growth BDC Corp., the firm’s publicly traded BDC, as well as at TriplePoint Capital and TriplePoint Advisers.
Schworer has been with TriplePoint Capital since 2014 and currently serves as chief credit officer for the U.S., overseeing all domestic investment and credit underwriting, and sits on the firm’s credit committee. Earlier in his career he was an investment banker in Barclays Capital’s technology, media and telecommunications group, a management consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, and an electrical engineer at Lockheed Martin and Intel. He holds an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and engineering degrees from Virginia Tech.
Schworer will remain an employee of TriplePoint Capital and will not receive cash compensation or benefits directly from the BDC, consistent with the externally managed structure in which the adviser, not the fund, employs and pays the investment team. The company said his appointment was not made under any arrangement with another party and that he has no family ties to its directors or officers.
Elevating an internal credit leader to the CIO role across every TriplePoint vehicle at once points to continuity in underwriting approach as the platform absorbs the departure of one of its founding investment principals from the private BDC’s leadership.
